IPTV

Unter IPTV wird die digitale Übertragung von breitbandigen Multimediadiensten (Fernsehen, Video, Audio, Texte, Bilder und Daten) über das IP-Protokoll verstanden. IPTV wird in der Regel mittels eines geschlossenen Datennetzes angeboten.  Die Videodaten werden von netzbasierten Video-Servern an die Clients übertragen. Eine andere Architektur der Datenübertragung sind Peer-to-Peer Verbindungen, die hauptsächlich bei P2P-TV zum Einsatz gelangen. Bei der Datenübertragung um Streamingserver zum IPTV Empfangssystem (Settop Box) gibt es zwei Verfahren:
